Indications
- a blurred facial oval (a “sagging” jawline)
- jowls
- a “double chin”
- pronounced wrinkles and folds (frown lines, nasolabial folds)
- unclear neck contours
- sagging of facial tissues
How it is performed
The facelift is performed under general anaesthesia. Access is in the temporal area, in front of the ear (at the tragus) and behind the ears.
The SMAS is detached, deep structures are repositioned if needed and their vectors changed: the SMAS is moved higher and fixed. The skin is repositioned and its excess removed.
The operation takes 2.5–4 hours.
