Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty corrects the contour of the abdomen, removes excess skin and restores a harmonious silhouette. It is especially relevant after pregnancy, significant weight loss or age-related tissue changes. Performed only under general combined anaesthesia.

Abdominoplasty

Types of abdominoplasty

  • mini-abdominoplasty
  • classic abdominoplasty
  • lipoabdominoplasty
  • body lift

Mini-abdominoplasty

Performed on patients without a pronounced apron or fat excess — for example after a caesarean section with a “roll” overhanging the scar, or with pronounced diastasis but no skin-fat excess. Usually lasts 1–2 hours and is often combined with lipo-contouring.

Classic abdominoplasty

Suitable for patients with excess skin above and below the navel, a “stretched” abdomen, multiple stretch marks, diastasis and possibly hernias of the anterior abdominal wall.

  • mobilisation of the skin-fat layer up to the costal arches
  • muscle separation is sutured or special meshes are used
  • any hernias are repaired
  • tissues above the navel are repositioned
  • the skin is pulled down and the excess removed
  • the navel is transferred on its feeding vessels to the new position

Duration about 2 hours. Access 20–40 cm in the lower abdomen, above the pubis and around the navel. Liposuction is used in the vast majority of cases.

Lipoabdominoplasty

A combination of abdominoplasty and liposuction of surrounding areas (lower back, flanks). Most effective when there are both excess skin and local fat deposits. It gives the most striking results, though recovery can be longer and more uncomfortable. Duration up to 5–6 hours or more, often combined with lipofilling of the buttocks.
